The North America Regional Office is located in Toronto, Canada at York University. DRPI projects that have been conducted in the region include the DRPI project in Canada, funded by SSHRC (Social Science and Humanities Research Council) and the Giinawind bigo ji wiijii project in Manitoba.
Currently underway in North America is the Expanding the Circle project, a 3 year SSHRC-funded partnership that will work collaboratively with Aboriginal people with disabilities in Ontario and their organizations to promote disability rights monitoring initiatives in Aboriginal communities.
