Negotiating capacity, legally constructed entitlement and protection written by Marcia Rioux , Joan Gilmour and Natalia Angel-Cabo, explores international treaties and guarantees of rights that affect the exercise of legal capacity. It addresses a number of critical areas at the intersection of legal capacity and individuals with multiple and complex needs. In particular, it focuses on domestic law in Colombia and Canada in order to assess how each of those countries have recently addressed issues of competence and incompetence in complex decision-making cases and the limitations on the exercise of legal capacity.
