DRPI launches the DRPI Portugal project

DRPI publicly launched the DRPI Portugal project on May 6, 2011. Attendees included people from disability organizations, government offices and embassies (Canada, Sweden and Portuguese speaking countries of Africa) as well as disability studies students. The main goal of the conference was to introduce the DRPI Portugal project, what it has achieved internationally and the potential to develop further work in Portugal and Portuguese-speaking countries.

During the lauch, DRPI Co-Director, Marcia Rioux, gave a presentation entitled Rights on the Ground:  Monitoring disability rights in the time of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
